Veritas Gathered: Liturgy Recap – February 16th, 2014
Welcome to the recap of the songs, hymns and spiritual song of the Veritas worship gathering on February 16th, 2014.
Song: “Mighty God” by Deitrick Haddon
Reading: Call to Worship
C: Praise the Lord! Let all that I am praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.
L: Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.
C: The Lord will reign forever. He will be our God throughout all generations. Praise the Lord!
– Based on Psalm 146
Song: “All Creatures of Our God and King” by David Crowder, William Henry Draper, Brent Milligan, and St. Francis of Assisi
Song: “For the Beauty of the Earth” by Folliott Sandford Pierpoint
L: Everlasting God, creator and sustainer of all life and the true home of every heart: our hearts are restless until they rest in you. In the midst of your beautiful creation which displays your glory, we confess that our hearts have been enslaved by selfish passion and evil desire which has lead us to death. We have sought after and worshiped many other things and have neglected your glory.
C: We have not loved you with our whole hearts; help us to turn to you and find forgiveness. Lead us to trust in the cross of Jesus, that we may again find in you our life and joy and peace. Amen.

Song: “Sovereign God” by Maurette Brown Clark
Song: “Bless the Lord (Son of Man)” by Tye Tribbett
C: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Song: “You Alone” by Anthony Evans
Hear this benediction as we go:
L: Go in the rest of God, our father, the creator of heaven and earth, who has provided for us through His Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior, with His very presence given to us in the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you.
C: And also with you.
