Veritas Gathered: Liturgy Recap – March 16th, 2014
Welcome to the recap of the songs, hymns and spiritual song of the Veritas worship gathering on March 16th, 2014.
Song: “Entrance” by Liz Vice
Reading: Call to Worship
L: Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones! For who in the skies can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, a God greatly to be feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all who are around him? O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you? You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them.
C:Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands that we would declare Your glory.
-Based on Psalm 89:5-9; 90:16-17
Song: “Come Thou Fount” by Robert Robinson and John Wyeth
L: Everlasting God, fountain of all life and the true home of every heart: our hearts are restless until they rest in you. Yet we confess that our hearts have been enslaved by selfish passion and base desire. We have sought after many things and have neglected our one true need.
C: We have not loved you with our whole hearts; help us to turn to you and find forgiveness. Lead us under the shadow of your cross, that we may again find in you our life and joy and peace. Amen.
-Adapted from Worship Sourcebook
Song: “The Water and the Blood” by David LaChance and Neil Robins
L: You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.
Passing of the Peace
Our Sermon this week was from Nick Nye from Genesis 2:4-17

Song: “Come to Me” by The Village Church
Song: “Sovereign God” by Maurette Brown Clark
L: So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.
C:So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Song: “Absent From Flesh” by Jamie Barnes
Hear this benediction as we go:
L: For the Lord our God has called us out of the slavery of sin and into the freedom of the gospel. Go, using this freedom, to serve and encourage one another as Jesus so faithfully served and continues to serve us. Peace be with you.
C: And also with you.
