Veritas Gathered: Preparing for Sunday – March 30th, 2014
The sermon this week will be taken from Genesis 3:1-24. Join us as we discuss the fall of man and explore our sinful nature, which has caused us to rebel against God. The good news for us, however, is that Jesus has redeemed us and continually advocates of us before the father.
The sermon this week will discuss the fall of man and our propensity to sin. Reflect on this liturgy of confession as we really dive into discovering the depth of our rebellion against God. Again, be assure though, that Christ has interceded for us and saved us from the penalty we owe for our sins.
L: Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught because of what my enemy is saying, because of the threats of the wicked; for they bring down suffering on me and assail me in their anger.
— Moment of Silence —
C: I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
Check out this list of some of the songs we will be singing together this week:
- “Come Ye Sinners” – reminds us of our sinful nature and our need for Jesus.
- “Everything Is Yours” – a new song that simply reminds us that all things belong to God.
- “You Alone” – joyfully exalts God and ascribes praise for his gracious and holy nature
Even though our arrangements might be slightly different, listen through these songs and see the great truths that they speak about our God and then come prepared to sing them out loudly and joyfully as a gathered church.
See you Sunday!
