Veritas Gathered: Liturgy Recap – June 15th, 2014

Welcome to the recap of the songs, hymns and spiritual song of the Veritas worship gathering on June 15, 2014

Bless Me Now Isaac [Genesis 27:1-45] GENESIS: The Gospel According to Jacob

Song: “Our Great God”

:::CALL TO WORSHIP:::

L: Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

C: For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

L: In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

C: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!

—Psalm 95:1-6

As we are reminded of the greatness of God, His glory, His work and we are given the call to kneel in surrender, to bow down and worship our creator God… He is worthy of all praise!!

Song: “Everything is yours”

:::CONFESSION/ASSURANCE:::

In our confession, we are reminded that, for those who believe in Jesus, nothing is too big for God – no sin, no doubt, no brokeness, no death… His grace overcomes it all to save us!!

C: We confess to You, O God of peace, our sin and unbelief. End our pride and take away our arrogance.

When the guilt of our sin and unbelief threatens to overcome us, help us to remember Christ, fully God yet fully Man, who became the sacrifice for our sins and through whom we are forgiven and restored.

Instill within us Your peace, O God, and by Your Spirit, revive our souls with new life in You. Amen

Song: “Not In Me”

Song: “Hail The King”

:::PASSING OF THE PEACE:::

Nothing we do will save us! Only the perfect righteousness of Jesus will save us!

Jesus has bore our heavy load of sin and in him we find peace and rest!

Lets celebrate this and demonstrate this peace to each as we greet each other this morning…

:::PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD:::

Our Sermon was from pastor Nick Nye on Genesis 27:1-45

:::COMMUNION:::

L: Jesus’ death brings us life and this meal reminds us that we are fed by Jesus and forgiven because of Jesus.

C: We rejoice that You have died, have risen, and are now with the Father advocating for us. Amen.

L: With our money, time, and talent we give generously, knowing that through Your Son, Jesus, You have generously given to us.

C: We rejoice that You have given everything and we joyfully give everything back to Your care. Amen.

Song: “I Stand Amazed”

Song: “Bless the Lord (Son of Man)”

:::COMMITMENT:::

The solid rock of Christ should give us incredible assurance and confidence! It should vanquish guilt and shame and should cause us to live with incredible joy!

Song: “The Solid Rock”

L: What can we say in response to God’s generous grace? If God is for us, who can be against us?
C: He did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all. Won’t He also graciously give us all things?
L: Who will bring any charge against or condemn those whom God has chosen?
C: No one! It is God who justifies and Christ Jesus, who died and was raised to life—is at the right hand of God interceding on our behalf.
L: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
C: Nothing—not death nor life, angels nor demons, the present nor future, not any powers, not height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God given to us through Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior!
—Based on Romans 8:31-39

Do you believe this? Are you trusting in the work of Christ? Are you living in the love of GOD?

As we sing of God’s love for us given to us through Jesus, we ask the spirit to cause us to believe! Break down our hard hearts, break through our doubt and shame, cause us to TRUST in CHRIST!

Song: “The Solid Rock”

:::BENEDICTION:::

Because of Christ’s resurrection, we have the hope and promise of eternal life. As we go, may that truth sink deep into our hearts and may we live in worship of our Risen Savior, to the glory of God the Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you.
