Veritas Gathered: Liturgy Recap, Sunday July 12th, 2015

Welcome to the recap of the songs, hymns and readings of the Veritas worship gathering on July 12th, 2015

This week we resumed our look through the book of Acts, picking up where we left off in the spring. Brad Snyder preached a sermon entitled “The Scandal of the Gospel” from Acts 10 – 11:18. So, as we explore the radical truth of God’s Gospel, let us open our ears and our hearts to hear from God through His Word and rejoice in Him! We will start the gathering by singing a song called “In Tenderness”.
Song: “In Tenderness”

L: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:28

Song: “Be Thou My Vision”

[Prayer for rest in God’s grace]

Song: “Come Ye Sinners”

Our Sermon was preached by Brad Snyder, entitled “The Scandal of the Gospel”, from Acts 10 – 11:18.

Song: “Nothing But the Blood”

Song: “Hallelujah What A Savior”

L: Jesus’ death brings us life and this meal reminds us that we are fed by Jesus and forgiven because of Jesus.

C: We rejoice that You have died, have risen, and are now with the Father advocating for us. Amen.

L: With our money, time, and talent we give generously, knowing that through Your Son, Jesus, You have generously given to us.

C: We rejoice that You have given everything and we joyfully give everything back to Your care. Amen.

L: “I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees. You will be my people, and I will be your God.”
-Ezekiel 36:24-28

L: Friends in Christ: by the power of the Spirit, we are united with Christ, called together as His Church and given a new spirit. Behold the greatness of our God!
C: In Christ we are made right. Thanks be to our loving God!

Song: “Grace Alone”

As God’s own, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, and patience, forgiving each other as the Lord has forgiven you, and crown all these things with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Go in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you.
