Veritas Gathered: Preparing for Sunday October 11th, 2015
This week we are continuing our walk through the story of redemption, working from Genesis to Revelation. Aaron Lockhart will be preaching a sermon called “Passover ” based on Exodus 12:23. As we reflect on the history of our own redemptive story, let us remember the meaning behind the authors words and let the Holy Spirit guide us in correct understanding.
C: We gather together to worship God, who, through the blood of Jesus Christ, has freed us from the darkness and emptiness of our former lives! We who believe in Jesus have been reborn, and are now children of the living God! Come, let’s worship the God who has set us free!
based on I Peter 1
Check out this list of some of the songs we will be singing together this week:
- “Hallelujah, What A Savior” – a hymn of remembrance, calling us to dwell on the immense and amazing sacrifice of the Son.
- “Before The Throne of God Above” – A reminder of Christ’s intercession on our behalf, as well as that despite the Enemy’s best efforts, we cannot be separated from the Father.
- “Be Thou My Vision” – a call to make God the guiding vision in our lives, because He knows better than we ever do.
Here is a link to a Spotify playlist. This playlist is comprised of songs being played at all four congregations this weekend, so you may not hear them all at your congregation. Even though our arrangements might be slightly different, listen through these songs and see the great truths that they speak about our God and then come prepared to sing them out loudly and joyfully as a gathered church.
