Veritas Gathered: Liturgy Recap – Sunday October 11th, 2015
Welcome to the recap of the songs, hymns and readings of the Veritas worship gathering on October 11th, 2015
C: We gather together to worship God, who, through the blood of Jesus Christ, has freed us from the darkness and emptiness of our former lives! We who believe in Jesus have been reborn, and are now children of the living God! Come, let’s worship the God who has set us free!
—based on 1 Peter 1
L: Almighty God who inhabits eternity, but dwells with those who are of a humble and contrite spirit: before You and our Lord Jesus Christ we confess our sins. We have sinned against You by living outside of Your design. We have not loved each other and ignored Your call to love and serve the hungry, the exiled, the destitute, the sick, and the imprisoned. We confess our sin and put our faith in Jesus. In Your great goodness, through the work and blood of Jesus, put away our offenses, free us from our bondage to sin and cleanse us from our guilt. We rejoice that our failing and guilt has been replaced with the perfection of Christ! May we rejoice in our salvation through Christ! Amen.

Song: “Before the Throne of God Above”
:::PASSING OF THE PEACE:::
:::PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD:::
Our sermon was preached by Aaron Lockhart, entitled “Passover”, from Exodus 12:23.
Song: “Empty Me Out”
L: Jesus’ death brings us life and this meal reminds us that we are fed by Jesus and forgiven because of Jesus.
C: We rejoice that You have died, have risen, and are now with the Father advocating for us. Amen.
L: With our money, time, and talent we give generously, knowing that through Your Son, Jesus, You have generously given to us.
C: We rejoice that You have given everything and we joyfully give everything back to Your care. Amen.
Song: “Hallelujah What A Savior”
L: Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
C: Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Song: “Be Thou My Vision”
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Peace be with you.
