Veritas Gathered: Preparing for Sunday October 18th, 2015

SERMON

This week we are continuing our walk through the story of redemption, working from Genesis to Revelation. Wes Thompson will be preaching a sermon called “Kingdom ” based on 2 Samuel 7:12-14. As we reflect on the history of our own redemptive story, let us remember the meaning behind the authors words and let the Holy Spirit guide us in correct understanding.

LITURGY

C: For our hope in a new creation is not tied to what humans can do, for we believe that one day every challenge to God’s rule will be crushed. His kingdom will fully come, and Christ the Lord will rule. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Amen.

MUSIC

Check out this list of some of the songs we will be singing together this week:

  • “In The Shadow of the Glorious Cross” – an expression of what the glory of the cross compels us to do, and a reminder that our identities are found in Him now.
  • “All Creatures of Our God and King” – A unifying anthem of praise, joining us with the whole of creation to glorify our Creator.
  • “Holy Holy Holy” – A hymn that speaks to the glory and majesty of our God, the realization of which calls us to praise him with all that is in us.

Here is a link to a Spotify playlist. This playlist is comprised of songs being played at all four congregations this weekend, so you may not hear them all at your congregation. Even though our arrangements might be slightly different, listen through these songs and see the great truths that they speak about our God and then come prepared to sing them out loudly and joyfully as a gathered church.
