Veritas Gathered: Preparing for Sunday October 25th, 2015

SERMON

This week we are continuing our walk through the story of redemption, working from Genesis to Revelation. Brad Snyder will be preaching a sermon called “Incarnation ” based on Mark 1:14-15. As we reflect on the history of our own redemptive story, let us remember the meaning behind the authors words and let the Holy Spirit guide us in correct understanding.

LITURGY

L: Covenant God, you heard your people yearning for a Savior. Thank you for sending your Son so long ago, in human flesh, to bring salvation to your people.

We remember your promises fulfilled in Christ and know that He will come again, that death and suffering will end and every tear will be wiped away.

C: As we go, we rejoice knowing that You were, are, and will continue to be present with us from age to age. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Amen.

MUSIC

Check out this list of some of the songs we will be singing together this week:

  • “Holy Holy Holy” – A hymn that speaks to the glory and majesty of our God, the realization of which calls us to praise him with all that is in us.
  • “All Creatures of Our God and King” – A unifying anthem of praise, joining us with the whole of creation to glorify our Creator.
  • “Jesus!” – A song of praise, to glorify the name of the Savior.

Here is a link to a Spotify playlist. This playlist is comprised of songs being played at all four congregations this weekend, so you may not hear them all at your congregation. Even though our arrangements might be slightly different, listen through these songs and see the great truths that they speak about our God and then come prepared to sing them out loudly and joyfully as a gathered church.
