Welcome to the recap of the songs, hymns and readings of the Veritas worship gathering on [Date]

Song: “Great is thy Faithfulness”

:::ADORATION:::

L: Praise be to God,

C: who rescues us from the power of darkness; who redeems us, and sets us free!

L: Praise be to Jesus Christ, the firstborn of all creation,

C: through whom all things were made, in heaven and on the earth.

L: Praise be to the Spirit of God,

C: whose presence sustains us, and whose breath renews all creation.

L: Behold! He is making all things new!

Song: “Praise to the Lord”

:::CONFESSION/ASSURANCE:::

L: Merciful God, Your very nature as eternal and unchanging should cause us to seek after You, but we are more often lost in the tumult of the storms that engulf us.  Your mercy is always available to us, but we are prisoners to the very things that You mean for our good.  We long for a life that looks good to the people around us more than desiring to glorify You in our decisions.  We cling to family, wealth, position, intellect, and the esteem of others, even though none of those things can fix our broken lives.

C: In Your presence we confess our sin and ask for mercy.  You, Jesus, are the good news that sets us free.

Song: “Our Great God”

:::PASSING OF THE PEACE:::

:::PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD:::

Our sermon was entitled “Fasting and Evil Oppression”, from Isaiah 61-62.

:::COMMUNION:::

L: Jesus’ death brings us life and this meal reminds us that we are fed by Jesus and forgiven because of Jesus.

C: We rejoice that You have died, have risen, and are now with the Father advocating for us. Amen.

L: With our money, time, and talent we give generously, knowing that through Your Son, Jesus, You have generously given to us.

C: We rejoice that You have given everything and we joyfully give everything back to Your care. Amen.

Song: “Before the Throne of God Above”

Song: “Oh God”

:::COMMITMENT:::

Song: “I Am Set Free”

:::BENEDICTION:::

May the Father’s light shine in our darkness. May the Spirit open our eyes to see the glory of Jesus. May He cause us to live in and proclaim the grace we have received. Go in hope of the peace He brings to the world. Peace be with you.
