This week we are continuing our walk through the story of redemption, working from Genesis to Revelation. Brad Snyder will be preaching a sermon called “Resurrection ” based on Luke 24:5-6. As we reflect on the history of our own redemptive story, let us remember the meaning behind the authors words and let the Holy Spirit guide us in correct understanding.
L: Sovereign Lord, we confess to you that we are often greedy and selfish with the things that you have given to us. We know that all of these, including money, time, and gifts are given to us that we may glorify you. Because of Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave we are empowered to worship you in all aspects of our lives.
C: By your loving grace, empty us of our self-idolizing ways, and by your Holy Spirit, guide us to live for your glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Check out this list of some of the songs we will be singing together this week:
- “Jesus at the Center” – a reminder of Jesus’ proper place in our lives – at the center of everything we do.
- “In Christ Alone” – a beautiful and powerful hymn that proclaims the hope we have in the sacrifice of Christ.
- “Death in His Grave” – A song that relives the story of Christ’s sacrifice, and how it is realized in our lives.
Here is a link to a Spotify playlist. This playlist is comprised of songs being played at all four congregations this weekend, so you may not hear them all at your congregation. Even though our arrangements might be slightly different, listen through these songs and see the great truths that they speak about our God and then come prepared to sing them out loudly and joyfully as a gathered church.
