Rooted is an innovative leadership development program in the neighborhood of Milo-Grogan designed to calibrate the local church for action. This one-year internship with Cultivate & Veritas Short North develops young leaders in the urban context and raises them up to be mature, proven and principled men and women who catalyze change in communities through the gospel.
This internship program is designed to give shape and form to socially-minded young men and women by providing the theological underpinning, pastoral shepherding, and practical experience that is necessary to produce life-long laborers in the harvest fields of the inner city so that justice, mercy, faithfulness, and hope pervade every aspect of city culture.
Each missional resident will live with three roommates in a once vacant, now renovated house in Milo-Grogan. Along with going to school full-time or working full-time, each resident will commit to five hours of volunteer work and five hours of leadership development a week.
The first Rooted house started in September, 2017 for females.
