Short North Kids Training

August 28, 2021 9:00 am

Short North Building, 345 E 2nd Ave

This training is for all current volunteers and interested volunteers in the future. If you have not yet connected with Jason Seiple, Family Life Director at the Short North, contact him before attending. RSVP if you plan to attend.

We serve a generous and mighty God (Zephaniah 3:17) who has granted each of us new mercy (Lamentations 3:22-24) for today and grace to sustain us for whatever we face today (Matthew 6:34). By His Son (Mark 1:11) we are called sons & daughters (John 1:12) and we can rest assured that we are in His care (1 Peter 5:7).

On Saturday, August 28th from 9am-12pm, we will gather together at the Short North building (345 E. 2nd Ave) to collectivize and unify our understanding of what it looks like to disciple children in the Gospel at Veritas Short North. This training will be both theologically rich and practically useful.

We all have different experiences when it comes to working with children for the sake of God’s kingdom. The great challenge before us is to see those experiences, bring them together, acknowledge their value, discern God’s will for our people in this context, and discover who we are as a unit of Gospel teachers. The primary aim of the church is to make disciples of all nations and to encourage the growth and development of its own disciples. Trainings like this are just as much about OUR development as they are anything else. This time will help us re-focus, prioritize, and (to the degree that it’s necessary) construct a system that results in EVERY child hearing the Gospel EVERY Sunday morning.
