God calls His church a “house of prayer for all peoples” (Isaiah 56:7), and the Prayer Ministry at Veritas Community Church exists to transform people and Veritas unto this high calling. God has promised the “house of prayer” is “for all peoples,” so we believe God will move powerfully through prayer to change us as individuals, as well as to transform our church and our city for His name’s sake (Ps 79:9). We can gather regularly to pray and grow in our love for God because Christ has won for us the acceptance of the Father, and we therefore have full access to Him.
The prayer ministry at Veritas seeks to provide opportunities to deepen the congregation’s relationship with our Lord through prayer. A few of the ways we are trying to do this is by having a few members of our prayer team providing intercession for the church as a whole but also for individuals who feel a need for prayer during each service on Sundays.
The prayer ministry meets weekly for a prayer gathering held at the Short North building every Wednesday from 6pm to 7:15pm where we pray for the city of Columbus and whatever The Lord has put on our hearts throughout the week.
Also, on the first Tuesday morning of each month, from 7:00am-8:00am, we call the church to gather for prayer with our church pastors. This is also held at the short north building but people from all congregations are invited.
We invite you to join us for prayer at any of these events.
In our Marriage Classes, we delve deeper into how we relate to one another, specifically in marriage relationships. God designed marriage to reflect the gospel. In our five, once-a-month classes, we explore what this should look like and how it often looks when stained by sin. Ultimately, marriage should and can grow us closer to God, and subsequently, one another.
God said that a man should leave his mother and father and become one flesh with his wife (Genesis 2:24). Our classes are designed to explore what this oneness means. Our hope is that dating, engaged, and married couples alike can come together in these classes. We will explore topics such as communication, biblical roles, money, intimacy, and God’s design for marriage, discerning what it means to live our marriages in light of the gospel.

Veritas Kids offers a safe place for children to learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus, existing with the hope to see their lives transformed by the gospel. Through carefully planned lessons that tell the stories of the Bible, it is our desire to creatively engage with the kids, offering a safe environment where they can encounter Jesus. Most importantly, we encourage and support families as the primary place of discipleship in their children’s lives. We offer resources to parents and aid as they guide and grow their children in light of the gospel.
Veritas’ Kids offers children’s ministry at each of our Sunday gatherings for infants through fifth grade.
If you are interested in volunteering as a teacher or helper, please let us know via our Connect page.
Veritas Students is the Middle and High School ministry of Veritas Community Church. Veritas Students exists to see the lives of every student in our city transformed by the Gospel. Our desire is to glorify God by taking the scandalous news of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to the next generation.
Veritas Students meets each Sunday during the 11am worship gathering at the Short North Campus, as well as the last Thursday of every month for “The Gallery”, a worship experience for students all across Columbus.

Some people are musicians. They naturally express themselves and communicate through music and song by creating and playing music, songwriting, arranging, listening, recording, etc. They are gifted with natural talent and have worked hard to develop these gifts and continue to strive for excellence in their expression.
Veritas Music serves to gather these people at Veritas and unify our efforts. One of the formalized by-products of this is the Veritas Band and the music/songs that they play at our worship gatherings. Other by-products are the music and songs we write and record and other music/writing/collaborative projects and events.
The end goal of the worship bands is not the music we play at our worship gatherings, it is beyond that. The mission is: 1) To use gifts of music in collaboration with the result of the conscious and continuous outpouring of worship to serve and edify the church, 2) To preach the gospel through music and song to ourselves, the church, and our communities, and 3) To call all people to rightly worship God and provide them with avenues (through song and music) by which to join with us and express that worship to God.
It’s out of this larger mission that the band leads the music at our worship gatherings by playing songs and music that are a product of this larger mission, leading us in a gathering context where together we consciously worship and praise God and where the music and songs give unified expression for the body of Christ to worship the Father God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, as revealed in the beauty of Christ.
If you are interested in joining Veritas Music and serving in one of the bands, please contact us via the Connect page.
We see art as a great way to use the creative minds that God has given us to demonstrate and reflect the Gospel and engage with people.

A large part of growth is leadership. God calls some of His people to lead and serve the church. Our desire is to equip those called to be able share the gospel, and most importantly, to be servant leaders who follow the ultimate sacrificial example of Christ. Veritas provides our interns with a holistic, practical, and hands-on ministry instruction. Our interns are immersed in serving the church, developing the skills for ministry both locally and globally, and creating leaders with a love for people within the church and the community. Most importantly, our interns follow the example of Christ, and it is this most important instruction that guides and informs their leadership.
Our Internships offer a general overview of daily church administration and ministry. More info is available here.
Our internships are fundamentally designed to see gospel transformation of leaders in three ways: 1.) Personal development; 2.) Growth of a heart for the church; and 3.) Growth of a heart for the city.

Veritas is a church that loves its community and wants to support the city around us. God has provided us with a wonderful space and we want to share it to build a relationship with the Columbus community. We offer a space not just for worship, but also for serving one another by playing host to art shows, concerts, community events, and benefits (to name a few).
At Veritas, we love art, music, and the chance to experience things together as a city. We hope that the building will house more than worship on Sundays, but also an active and vibrant community living out the gospel day-by-day.
For more information on using our space, have a look at our Connect page.
