Anonymity is so appealing to many of us.

We think, “I can slip in on Sundays, sing a few songs and be out before anyone can bother me.” That is shallow living and shallow relationship. Being known is scary—it means letting people in on the secret that we are as jacked up as they are. Yet we yearn so deeply to be known. Everyone feels it.

To be known and still be loved—that would be something. It is something: it is something God offers through Christ on the Cross, and something we are seeking to offer each other in community.

The place to be known at Veritas is in Community Group. Like a swimmer poised at the edge of the high dive, you will feel apprehension before you take the plunge. If Christ is the life-source of Veritas, Community Groups are its heartbeat. Take the plunge: risk being known, risk being loved. You may find joy, you may find pain—but you will most certainly find Christ.
