Movie Nights in the Park

We aim to be a group of people transforming our city with the gospel. We know this happens when individuals love and engage their neighbors, which should be noted, requires sacrifice. Movie Nights in the Park are no different. You’ll be sacrificing a Friday night or two. You’ll be sacrificing hang-out time with your usual friends at your usual Friday night joints. However, I don’t believe you’ll find other service opportunities that are quite this fun.
At Veritas, we are striving to focus on people, not projects and on processes, not products. Whether it’s a service opportunity or a neighborly hang-out (or both), showing Christ’s love requires intentionality. If you want to volunteer to serve, email Amy Byler. However, one of the best ways to serve is to just show up and share a bit of your life with the mom, dad, or child that you sit beside. Let’s allow our identity in Christ to transcend any cultural or socioeconomic barriers and let’s be intentional about building new relationships this summer!

Service Opportunites

As God’s image-bearers, an integral part of our identity is service. We are servants because God is a servant. It’s more than what we do; it’s who we are. If you are looking for ways to serve in our church or in our city, or if you know of a way that the church can serve, The City is a great venue to find and share those needs and Community Groups are a perfect context to serve in.

Join your community in supporting Weinland Park food pantries. Volunteers from Veritas will be helping to maintain garden plots the NNEMAP and Vinyard Church food pantries this summer. If you’re interested in signing up for a shift, or want to get your community group involved in a regular rhythm of service at the gardens, email Kelly Lash.

Sermon Series

Genesis: The Gospel

According to Jacob

Genesis is the first book of the Bible and introduces the first act in the drama of redemption. It tells us about the beginning of creation; it tells us about the beginning of sin in the world and the fall of humanity; it tells us about the beginning and formation of the people of God—Israel and the church; but most of all it points us to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

This Week: Genesis 28:10-22

Community Groups

Community groups (CG’s) are at the heart of the ministry and mission of Veritas. They are where we live out a gospel informed life together. A CG is a small group of people who come together to declare and demonstrate the gospel of Jesus Christ to a specific pocket of people. Being part of a Community Group means being part of a family of people on mission together. Its our hope to have a CG on mission in every neighborhood of Columbus. Look for a group in your neighborhood and join the mission! If there is not a group in your neighborhood, contact us via the contact page and let’s begin talking and praying about starting one there!
