Where Is The Lamb? [Genesis 22:1-18] GENESIS: The Gospel According to Abraham

Song: “The Love Of God” by Frederick M. Lehman

Remember who God is—his goodness, his steadfast love, and the redemption that He’s accomplished through Jesus.

L: Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!

C: Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble.

L: Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!

C: For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.

-Psalm 107:1-2, 8-9 ESV

Song: “All Creatures Of Our God And King” by David Crowder,

As we realize more fully that we’ll never be good enough through our own efforts to earn God’s favor, we are reminded that we already have his favor through the grace given to us in Jesus, his perfection, his work!

L: If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:8-9

— silent prayer —

Hebrews 12 gives us this amazing assurance of our salvation and of our sins being forgiven, and a call to look to Jesus when we feel overwhelmed by our sin or overwhelmed with the weight of life!

C: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us runwith perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

L: For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
– Heb 12:1-3

Song: “Fix My Eyes”

Our Sermon this week was from Nick Nye on Genesis 22:1-18

L: Jesus’ death brings us life and this meal reminds us that we are fed by Jesus and forgiven because of Jesus.

C: We rejoice that You have died, have risen, and are now with the Father advocating for us. Amen.

L: With our money, time, and talent we give generously, knowing that through Your Son, Jesus, You have generously given to us. C: We rejoice that You have given everything and we joyfully give everything back to Your care. Amen.

Song: “No Condemnation” by Anthony Evans

Song: “Hallelujah What A Savior” by Philip Paul Bliss

L: God has caused light to shine in our hearts, the light that is knowledge of the glory of God in the face of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

C: Praise be to God for giving us salvation through Jesus Christ, our Lord!

L: God has given us the promise that we will be raised with Christ to new life!

C: Praise be to God for giving us salvation through Jesus Christ, our Lord!

L: All this is so that God’s grace would be made known and would reach many people so that many would respond with great thanksgiving to the Glory of God

C: Praise be to God for giving us salvation through Jesus Christ, our Lord! Spirit of God, empower us to faithfully display and proclaim this grace in our home, in our city, and in our world that many would believe in Jesus and give thanks and glory to God.

—Based on 2 Corinthians 4:6
