How Awesome Is This Place! Jacob’s Dream [Genesis 28:10-22] GENESIS: The Gospel According to Jacob

Song: “Oh! Great is Our God”

:::CALL TO WORSHIP:::

We gather together, not to prove how good we’ve been, not to fulfill some religious duty…but rather, we gather to remember God’s glory, to worship him through song and prayer, to experience His presence together, to encourage each other as we proclaim the gospel and grace of Jesus.

L: All glorious God, we give you thanks: in your Son, Jesus Christ, you have given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. You chose us, before the world was made, to be your holy people, without fault in your sight.

C: You adopted us as your children in Christ. You have set us free by his blood; you have forgiven our sins.

L: You have made known to us your secret purpose, to bring heaven and earth into unity in Christ. You have given us your Holy Spirit, the seal and pledge of our inheritance.

C: All praise and glory be yours, O God, for the richness of your grace, for the splendor of your gifts, for the wonder of your love.

—based on Ephesians 1:3-18

Song: “Oh God”

Song: “Great Is Your Name”

:::PASSING OF THE PEACE:::

The love of God was displayed to us as Jesus took our sins and paid the penalty for them through his death and the love of God continues to be shown to us as we experience the peace that comes from having our sins forgiven!!

:::PROCLAMATION OF THE WORD:::

Our Sermon this week was from Josh Remy on Genesis 28:10-22

Song: “King Of Glory”

:::CONFESSION/ASSURANCE:::

L: Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other. But—

C: When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.

L: He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.

C: Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.
—Titus 3:3-7

:::COMMUNION:::

L: Jesus’ death brings us life and this meal reminds us that we are fed by Jesus and forgiven because of Jesus.

C: We rejoice that You have died, have risen, and are now with the Father advocating for us. Amen.

L: With our money, time, and talent we give generously, knowing that through Your Son, Jesus, You have generously given to us.

C: We rejoice that You have given everything and we joyfully give everything back to Your care. Amen.

Song: “Entrance”

Song: “How Deep The Father’s Love For Us”

:::COMMITMENT:::

L: We give You thanks, great God, for the hope we have in Jesus, who died but is risen and rules over all.

C:We praise You for His presence with us. Because He lives, we look for eternal life, knowing that nothing past, present, or yet to come can separate us from Your great love made known in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

—A prayer from the Common Book of Worship

We pray that God would draw our hearts to him, so that we might trust him, worship him and that our entire life would be for his glory! Because in his glory, we find our true joy and satisfaction!

Song: “Be Thou My Vision

:::BENEDICTION:::

May the God of peace guard your hearts from the false and fading comforts of idols and may he lead you on to find true satisfaction in the blessings that only He can provide. Go now in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you.
