Veritas Gathered: Preparing for Sunday – November 9, 2014

SERMON

This weeks sermon text is John 16:12-15.  Join us as we continue in our series of “A Movement of Prayer”! This week we will be focusing on stopping and listening to God. Gather with us as we rejoice in what Christ has done for us!

LITURGY

L: Blessed be the Lord! For He has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.
C: The Lord is the strength of His people; He is the saving refuge of His anointed.
—Based on Psalm 28:6-8

This is our call to worship for this week. With these words we remember that God is for us and not against us. When we are in Christ he is our strength and our protection. He is our refuge, our shield, and he hears our pleas.

MUSIC

Check out this list of some of the songs we will be singing together this week:

  • “Your Love Is Strong” – A song speaking of the immense power of God’s love based on Matthew 6
  • “Empty Me Out” – A theologically rich song speaking of our new identity in Christ.
  • “God is Good” – A song about the goodness of God and how even in times of unbelief he is our omnipotent provider

Here is a link to a Spotify playlist.

Even though our arrangements might be slightly different, listen through these songs and see the great truths that they speak about our God and then come prepared to sing them out loudly and joyfully as a gathered church.
