Veritas Gathered: Preparing for Eve of the Eve (Short North) – December 23rd, 2014

SERMON

Next week on December 23 we will be having our annual “Eve of the Eve” Christmas service! We always look forward to this time of year where families come together to celebrate the birth of our Lord, Savior, and King, Jesus Christ. We will talk about the need for a light in a dark world, the hope of Christ, God coming down in the form of man, and the freedom that started with the birth of our Lord. Please join us for this celebratory occasion!

LITURGY

L: Hear the good news: Christ is born! Give him glory! Christ has come down from heaven! Receive him! Christ is now on earth! Exalt him!
C: With praise, we receive Jesus as our Savior! Father God, ignite our hearts, that this Christmas season Your light may shine forth from our lives as we rejoice in Your glory, as we serve and care for those around us and as we display and proclaim Your generous love. All this is possible through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

MUSIC

A couple years ago we released a Christmas CD called Gloria. This album has classic Christmas songs such as O Come O Come Emmanuel, O Holy Night, and What Child Is This, but they have been re-imagined by musicians right here at Veritas Community Church. We will be doing a few of these songs at this service and you can download the album at the link below!

We hope to see you at one of our services and are extremely excited to celebrate the birth of Jesus with you !
