The festival is an 80 year old tradition being held every June in Columbus’ Westgate Park. The Hilltop bean dinner unites people from all around Columbus in this one day of Music, a Variety of Food (including the famous beans), Arts and Craft Vendors, and an Antique Car Show. At the same intersection, “Unified Next Door” is making its second annual rally of churches across the city working together to worship God and share the Gospel.
The Westside cohort of churches has decided that we not only want to bring Unified in the Park back, we want to integrate it with what is happening at the Hilltop Bean Dinner. We’ve reached out to the organizers of the Bean Dinner, and our churches will be serving in the kids area, as well as trash pickup. We will come not in competition as churches against each other, but in cooperation to lift up the name of Jesus Christ, that we would be living into our calling in Ephesians 4:3-6, and that many would find the hope and joy we know in Jesus.
We will have joint booths telling folks about what ways and where the Church with its many expressions are serving in the community, from clothes and diapers, to meals, to groceries, to Bible clubs, and Sunday morning worship services. We will have face painting, a bounce house, an obstacle course, two prayer tents, a story tent, and more!
We are looking for people to help with the tear down crew, a commitment from 5:00-6:00pm, but we could also use help all throughout the day. If you can help with tear down, please sign up here.
