Veritas childcare staff will serve parents of Veritas by supervising their children during Veritas-offered events. A minimum of two staff members (possibly more, depending on the number of children present) will be scheduled for each event. Staff members will work together to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children in attendance.
Schedule: Events are scheduled according to the needs of each congregation; childare staff members sign up based on their personal availability. Ideally, workers would take on at least one event (approximately 2 hours) a month.
Compensation: Childcare staff members will be paid a fixed hourly ($12/hour) rate for the first four hours worked within a calendar month. Any time that exceeds four hours within a one month period will be compensated with incentive pay ($18/hour).
Direct Supervisor: Central Childcare Director
Childcare staff members are to supervise and engage each child in attendance. They are responsible for creating a safe environment by knowing any special needs of children (allergies, medical conditions, not toilet-trained, etc.), keeping the room as hazard free as possible, and following necessary procedures in emergency situations. They will offer stimulating, age-appropriate activities. They will ensure that all rooms used are cleaned and back to their original conditions at the end of each event.
Childcare staff should be prepared to attend childcare trainings throughout the year. Plan on approximately one quarterly/four times a year.
All childcare workers will be prompt, arriving no later than 15 minutes prior to events, and come prepared to monitor children.
