Central Communications Director.

All of ministry is a calling. For some, that is a calling to ministry in their vocation. For others, ministry is their vocation, if only for a season. From the Pastor to the newest of part-time employees, Veritas staff role is a ministry role and is shaped and envisioned to advance the ministry and mission of Veritas Community Church.

Communications Director

The Central Communications Director manages Veritas’s messaging infrastructures for all congregations and develops content that conveys logistics, concise calls to action, themes, and stories. The scope of work includes managing internal, closed communications channels as well as all external, public-facing mediums such as our website and social media. The Communications Director would rely on data analytics, spiritual propriety, and sensitivity to multiple leaders’ voices to govern existing policies, establish protocols, and improve on best practices with every distribution channel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with copywriting and editing to improve grammar, spelling, and style
  • Adept in managing text and email marketing platforms with automations and segmentation
  • Willing to have open, operable social media accounts to oversee Veritas’s social media presence on Facebook and Instagram
  • Competence with utilizing web-based church management software such as “Planning Center”
  • Comfortable working in content management systems like “Subsplash” or “Wordpress”
  • Accomplished leader of teams (both staff and volunteer)

Essential Duties

  • Collaborates with ministry leaders, staff, and pastors to develop strategic communications plans for their area of oversight
  • Upholds Veritas’s voice and branding in all forms of visual and written communications
  • Works with graphic designers and artists to produce content for print and web
  • Able to walk staff and church leaders through communications protocols during a crisis situation
  • Trains staff and church leaders to follow communications policies, practices, and expectations
  • Ensures signage in and around buildings are permitted, clear, and up to date

Desirable, Non-Essential Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc…), even if just to edit graphics and videos using templates and pre-existing files
  • Skilled at creating and managing forms with conditional logic for event registrations, applications, and collecting feedback
