Volunteer Opportunities

During the fall session (Sept 7th – Nov 9th), all Veritas programming will happen on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:15. This will allow Community Groups and families to all volunteer together!

Group volunteers will work in pairs/trios spread throughout programs, each of which has a lead volunteer who will orient you to what to expect and remain present to assist. This means that no background knowledge or advance planning is needed on your part!

Your kids are welcome to join! Those who meet the age cut off for childcare will play in those spaces, 3rd-5th graders can attend either of the programs offered, and students 6th grade and older can volunteer (volunteer hours can be signed off on “officially” if needed).

Sign up for one or more dates HERE. (One person can sign up for a full group – just indicate the number of volunteers in your group.) If you have a preference about the role you fill, please share that in the notes. You can expect an email on the Friday before you volunteer with details about where to go, and what role you’ll fill.

All volunteers who did not complete a background check in the fall will need to complete one. There is a $16 fee associated with the process. Please email gwen.nordman@veritascolumbus.com for information on how to complete the background check on your own.

Donate In-Kind

Students and families of J.W. Reason are more than just next door neighbors. They are families we have the joy to serve. Through a grant provided by the Ohio Department of Education called the “21st Century Learning Center Grant,” we have accepted the offer to be J.W. Reason’s official “community partner” to assist the school in offering programs for intervention, enrichment, positive youth development, and parent engagement. This is a 30 week program broken into three ten-week sessions.
