God’s Wrath Passed Over
digital painting
by Derek Nicol

Slay your best lamb, put it’s blood on your doorpost, and eat it’s cooked carcass in haste. These were God’s instructions for his people the night he took the lives of the firstborn sons of Egypt. He sent his messenger of destruction creeping through the streets and alleyways, distributing the sentence of expiration to some, but accepting the slain lamb as ransom for others. This is a night to remember. Generation after generation, Daughter Zion will look back to remember her redemption from slavery to Egypt and look forward to her redemption from slavery to sin in the eternal Lamb.
Sermons
Exodus 12:23
For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you.
