More than ten years ago, Veritas was nothing more than an vision. As our founders settled into Columbus, their burdened hearts came together in hopes of planting a church. The vision was to grow a community in an evolving city, where people from all walks of life could come together to be transformed by Jesus’ grace.

On October 5th, 2008 we held our first public gathering and we resolved to “know nothing but Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2) Throughout all the ups, downs, twists and turns, our anthem always has been the gospel.

A year before that first public gathering, we set out to gain momentum. We invited people from our budding relationships in the neighborhood to join us for a soup dinner. We made a large vat of chili soup. No one came. This isn’t technically the beginning of our story, but it taught us early on that trusting this endeavor of starting a church would require patience and sacrifice. Most of all, it would require trust. It’s the same trust that’s required of us as we continue to see Columbus transformed by the gospel.
