  • Welcome to Veritas

People are just not real with each other anymore. You see it everywhere you look: deceitful relationships at work, unfaithful relationships at home and meaningless relationships at the bar. Veritas is a church that does not desire to do “fake.” We are a community of broken people seeking to know and love each other authentically because Jesus knows and loves us perfectly. We want to proclaim His gospel in its truth.

We hope this website will help you learn a few things about who we are and…

THE CITY is built around the concept of “Groups” that replicate Veritas’ community groups and ministry groups.

THE CITY also has an admin …

Anonymity is so appealing to many of us.

We think, “I can slip in on Sundays, sing a few songs and be out before anyone can bother me.” That is shallow living and shallow relationship. Being known is scary—it means letting people in on the secret that we are as jacked up as they are. Yet we yearn so deeply to be known. Everyone feels it.

To be known and still be loved—that would be something. It is something: it is something God offers t…more

    Medium

At the “State of the Church Address” we talked about being community members, learners, servants, and missionaries. Be the church and build it.

Out of this discussion comes two more important things that we’ll hash out on Sunday, Feb 21st:

    1. Serving the City – How can we serve the city, get involved in the life of the city, and not just be consumers but givers?
    2. Living In the City – What does it take to raise a family in the city? Is it dangerous?

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” – Galatians 6:10

    From Pastor Nick:

I don’t know about you but this week I saw pictures coming from Haiti that I never want to see again. There was a man, about my age carrying the corpse of his 4 year old daughter, my daughters age. As I saw picture after picture on the news I couldn’t just feel bad or pretend it’s not happening, I want to take action.

In time the roads will be repaired, the hospitals rebuilt, the schools will…more

    Jesus In The Old Testament

The climax of a story can change the way we view its beginning. If Jesus’ resurrection marks the summit of the biblical story then what does the Old Testament mean? Jesus is the crowned character of God’s story and the pinnacle of glory. So then, what significance do the Old Testament characters have?
