Veritas Gathered: Preparing for Sunday – June 9th, 2013

 ::SERMON::
In our third week of our series in Revelation we will be looking at the letter to the church of Pergamum. The text comes from Revelation 2:12-17. In this letter to the church at Pergamum Jesus both commends them for their steadfast faith and rebukes them for allowing false teachings to thrive among them.  Join us as we hear what Jesus has to say to us about remaining faithful to the gospel and scripture as well as intentionally and boldly living within our communities.

::LITURGY::
Check this out- it’s what scripture has to say about the assurance that we have in the gospel, which ultimately leads to us being at peace with the Father through Jesus Christ. Please spend time reading through this and praying that this truth would settle into the deepest parts of your mind and soul.

L: When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
C: Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.
– Titus 3: 3-7

::MUSIC::

Check out this list of some of the songs we will be singing together this week:

– “In The Shadow of The Glorious Cross”, a favorite of Veritas that lets us sing out about he glorious cross of Christ.

– “We Are Listening”, this song reminds us of our utter need to always be listening to the word of God.

– “Oh Great Is Our God”, it is what it is- a joyful song of praise to our great and glorious God!

– “I Am Set Free”, a simple yet powerful song proclaiming our freedom from sin and redemption through the gospel.

Here is a link to a Spotify playlist.

Even though our arrangements might be slightly different, listen through these songs and see the great truths that they speak about our God and then come prepared to sing them out loudly and joyfully as a gathered church.

See you Sunday!
