ASK: Suffering
Pain and suffering are very real parts of everyday life. How we view God dictates much of our response to suffering. Nick offers four pillars that when used as framework through which to view suffering can reassure us in the goodness and love of God.
ASK: Politics
What should the average Christian’s involvement in politics look like? The basic level of involvement is prayer for our leaders. We should pray with thanksgiving for our leaders that they would be able to lead with a heart of joy. Our second responsibility is to lead a peaceful life and to not seek to harm leaders who hold opposing positions. The Gospel call for unity in Christ extends to the role of politics, but Christ must still be the center. When we are personally united and transformed by the Gospel we will see transformation in our nation and world.
ASK: The Trinity
We can describe the Trinity shortly as “one God who eternally exists as three distinct persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” There is a divine dance going on within the Trinity. To begin to understand the Trinity, we must first be found in Christ, and then enter into this dance. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit work together, experiencing great joy that we are offered to participate in with them.
ASK: Adoption
If we are in Christ, we are adopted into the family of God the Father. Romans 8 gives us assurance of this adoption, telling us that we are heirs with Christ and can call out to Abba, our Father. The Spirit assures us of our adoption and inheritance that is to come.

A Pastoral Note
Paul concludes his letter to the Corinthians by speaking to them about money, ministry, leadership and community. He ends with a personal note to them.
Our Resurrection and Future Glory
Christ’s resurrection assures us of the following things: we will be changed to glory, acknowledged by Jesus, acquitted by Jesus, and made completely happy. We do not hope in this life alone, but we must acknowledge Jesus’ resurrection now. Because of his resurrection, we are called to walk in a newness of life, to wage war against our sin, and to hope in our future glory.
Jesus’ Resurrection
We must respond to Jesus’ resurrection in one of two ways: either you must believe in it and recognize Jesus as the King of kings and who he claimed to be, or you must reject Jesus and his resurrection as perhaps the greatest hoax ever. With all the evidence supporting Jesus’ resurrection, it seems unlikely and difficult to reject its validity. As Christians, because of Christ’s resurrection, we have hope and assurance in our regeneration, justification and even our own resurrection.
Tongues and Prophecy
We continue to look at spiritual gifts, with a special focus on tongues and prophecy.
Personification and Performance
This passage from Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians is more than just some verses to be read at a wedding. They are a call to a higher standard of holy living. They are a personification of Love, and a detailing of the God we worship. Paul charges the Corinthians that though they may do the most spiritual thing they can think of, it means nothing if it is done without love. Have you really encountered the love of Jesus, that you can do good work for him out of that love?
